BGP 0.4.2 released
17Feb09
This update fixes a bug which causes a crash in some cases where response from a route server contains routing entries with trailing “(aggregated by w.x.y.z)” in them.
If you find a bug, please leave a comment with what you entered (i.e. AS Number if ASNumber lookup or IP Address and Route Server if ASPath lookup). It makes a bug easily reproducible and that usually helps me fix a bug.
Thanks,

Hi,
It seems the application only allows for numerical AS numbers. This forms a problem when trying to lookup a 32bit AS number, which contains a dot.
Hope you will be able to fix this. As it’s a handy tool.
Kind regards,
Tj
Tjardick,
Thanks for your feedback. As you pointed out, BGP doesn’t support 4-octet ASN (asplain or asdot) now. But whois.radb.net, which BGP sends request to, supports 4-octet ASN in asdot, so it’s not so hard to fix this. I’ll relax input validation in the app and allow the app to send 4-octet ASN queries in asdot notation.
Unfortunately, I’ll head for US this weekend and spend 3 weeks away from home, therefore I cannot assure you when I can find time on this. If I have time while I’m on the road, I will work on it. Otherwise, I’ll fix this as soon as I get back from US.
Thanks,
